Ice Storm Aftermath

The ice storm has come and gone. Our power went out at 2:30pm yesterday and it’s still off. We were invited over to some friends’ house today around lunch time because they still have power, and when a branch snapped off a tree just behind our house and punctured a hole through the roof and ceiling of the master bathroom, we decided to take them up on their offer. Another incentive was hearing the news that our power probably wouldn’t be restored until Saturday.
So, the good news is that we’re all safe, sound and warm. The bad news is that we have a huge mess and some costly repairs to do when everything thaws out.
Here are some more pictures:
- Branch resting on our roof
- This branch threatened to take out our ac unit
- Thicker ice on the fence
- This one threatened the dog pen, but it’s holding steady.
- limbs hanging low
- more ice on the branches
